  3. XG SONG SHOWCASE FILES converted to General MIDI (GM)

  5. These songs are short  excerpts  from  the  increasing XG song library.
  6. They are here included as Standard  MIDI File format data (for playback
  7. through a sequencer with an  XG-compatible  tone  module), and as audio
  8. data, for playback through a normal  CD  audio player. They've been re-
  9. configured for General MIDI (GM) here so those users can play the files
  10. as well..

  12. WARNING : These songs can be played  on  an audio CD player, but do not
  13. play Track 1, as it may cause damage to your HiFi system.

  15. The audio tracks are  recorded  directly  from  an MU80 tone generator,
  16. without any additional effects  or  processing  and reconfigured with a
  17. Korg i3 Interactive Music Workstation.  We hope you enjoy them.

  53. RESET FILES FOR ANY SEQUENCER
  54. **********************************
  55. These files are here for those "just  in case" times when you might try
  56. to play a Standard MIDI File from another source which may not have any
  57. GM/GS/XG reset message at the beginning  of  a file. In this situation,
  58. your files may develop strange cases  of  distortion on the strings, or
  59. phaser on the piano. No need to worry, help is at hand. Simply load one
  60. of these files into your  sequencer  (whichever is most appropriate for
  61. your reset-free file) and hit  the  play  button  - instant reset! Each
  62. file is less than one bar  long  and contains simply the correct System
  63. Exclusive setup messages for all three MIDI File types.

  67. XG MIDI CLIPS re-configured for General MIDI (GM)
  68. *************************************************
  69. MIDI clip is the musical equivalent  of  "clip  art". XG MIDI Clips are
  70. original MIDI files  specially  programmed  for  XG compatible hardware
  71. such as DB50XG but have been  re-configured for General MIDI (GM) here.
  72. They are designed  to  make it  easy  to add professional quality music
  73. to   your   presentations   and   other  multimedia  authoring.  Unlike
  74. digital audio, MIDI file is very  small  so  that the data handling and
  75. transfer is very easy. Thanks  to   the   new  GM format,GM  MIDI Clips
  76. give you unprecedented music  power  without  deep musical knowledge or
  77. composition skill.

  79. Note:You are  free  to  use  and  edit  these  MIDI  files  within your
  80. presentation or authoring work.

  82. There are 60 MIDI files in  total.  You  will find similar names on the
  83. files such as  CL30GM,CL30GMA,B,C.  For  example,  CL30GM  is  the song
  84. called "Danse Macabre", and A.B.C represent a certain part of the song.
  85. Within your presentation or authoring work,  you can use the whole song
  86. "CL30GM" or some part of it such  as introduction "A" according to your
  87. needs.
